The first meeting of Leadership Council was held on January 17th, 2009 at Waltham Public Library. In attendance were twenty five (25) leaders representing twelve social, religious, professional and services organizations. The organizations represented, listed alphabetically, were Brahma Kumaris. Golden Club, Gurjar, India Association of Greater Boston, Indian Medical Association of Greater Boston, Jain Center of Greater Boston, Jain Sangh of New England, New England Marathi Mandal, Patidar Samaj, Share and Care, South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston. At this meeting ICC mission and Leadership Council role was discussed with the attendees. In turn, the attendees indicated their support and willingness to work with ICC so that collectively we can serve our members and community at large. They provided very valuable inputs and suggestions. These ideas would help ICC to improve its approach and outline new and additional avenues of working with each other. ICC plans to continue this type of dialog with all the organizations by planning similar future meetings every six months.
