Indian Circle for Caring USA Inc., (ICC) is a volunteer non-profit organization founded in 2007 is focused on providing urgent or emergency support for our fellow community members and their families as they may encounter unplanned events such as serious sickness, hospitalization, accidents, family crisis, and death and bereavement of a loved one; Planning for Critical Life Events such as health care proxy, retirement planning; And Lifestyle Program to address the twin epidemic of heart disease and diabetes that is 3-4 times more prevalent in community members form Indian subcontinent than the general population around the world.
We are looking for volunteers in the following areas
Community Outreach Volunteering
ICC volunteers reach out to community members to make them aware of the services we provide. All our services are Free of Cost to the community members. We primarily reach out to community members to increase awareness by having an information table at community events throughout the year in Greater Boston area. What volunteers do
- Seek out opportunities for ICC presence
- Host ICC information booths at Community Events
- Attend local events to talk about ICC initiatives
- Encourage everyone you meet at Community Events to be an ambassador for ICC activities – “Tell your friends and family about ICC”
Marketing Support
Marketing volunteers at ICC provide support for automating marketing activities such as email blasts, social media posts. Marketing support volunteers also develop marketing materials that may include hand outs at community events, banners to display at all ICC events.
What volunteers do
- Automate communication (Mailchimp)
- Update website (post new events, etc)
- Ongoing social media posts
- Graphic design work
Health care Proxy Workshop
ICC conducts Health care proxy workshops at various locations throughout Greater Boston area. What volunteers do
- Identify places to hold the workshops
- Assist with set up
- Assist with the Presentation
Lifestyle Program
ICC’s Lifestyle program focuses on increasing awareness about the program amongst community members and to take action by joining AIM2Prevent Program offered by South Asian Heart Center (SAHC). You can read more about the program here
What volunteers do for this program
- Be an ambassador for increasing awareness amongst your friends and family members
- Encourage community members to learn more about ICC’s Lifestyle program and to join the AIM to Prevent program offered by South Asian Heart Center
- Encourage friends and family members to become ICC members (no fee) so they can be kept abreast of ICC activities that can benefit them
