Our speakers

Dr. George Kinzfogl, Chief of Cardiology at Metrowest Medical Center and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University

George Kinzfogl, MD, is Chief of Cardiology at MetroWest Medical Center and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. He has a special interest in valvular heart disease and multimodal cardiac imaging. He enjoys practicing in the community and developing longitudinal relationships with his patients.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. In 2001, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2004, he completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Comprehensive Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.

He has additional training in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Cardiac Computed Tomography; he also speaks fluent Spanish. Dr. Kinzfogl has served as Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for many years and has been a primary investigator for several multicenter clinical trials. He has received multiple teaching awards and has been recognized by Boston Magazine as one of Boston’s Best Doctors for Cardiology for over five consecutive years.

Mr. Amit Akkad, Director ICC and Lifestyle Program Ambassador

Mr. Amit Akkad is an Experienced Global Executive, having managed multimillion-dollar global businesses as Vice President and General in the videoconferencing industry. He is a recognized business leader with excellent strategic, analytical, communications and operational skills. He is currently associated with a start-up company in robotics.
Mr. Akkad is Director of ICC and Lifestyle Ambassador serving the community. He has also been working with multiple NGOs to educate and inspire children of rural (Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) communities in India for past several years.
