Impact of Dental Health on Diabetes and Heart Disease
Recent studies suggest that bacteria in your mouth and the inflammation associated with gum disease (periodontitis) can play a role in diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. Diabetes can lower one’s resistance to infection, making oral health problems more severe. Gum disease (periodontitis) is associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease.

Speaker Bio:
A resident of the UCLA TMJ and Orofacial Pain Program, he represents the next generation of leadership for the dental profession with a goal to change the way we practice with common sense approach to business, dedication to clinical excellence and integration of technology. He is only one of the three dentists in Massachusetts to incorporate the truly Haptic Robotic assisted Implant Surgery in his practice.
He is a full-time practicing dentist that deals with the same issues we all face – overhead, difficult patients, ups and downs of private practice, and team management and now COVID -19. He has managed to build a successful practice over the 25 years of clinical practice that is focused on clinical excellence, education, and mentorship.
Mr Girish Mehta, ICC Founder and Executive Director
After completing professional career, Girish’s skills, time, and energies are applied on a full-time basis in serving Indian Community through ICC. He earned his BE degree in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Engineering at Tufts and MBA from Boston University.
Girish bhai, as he is foundly called also led the effort to bring the proven AIM2Prevent(TM) Program from South Asian Heart Center to New England states..
