Apte, Samita

Samita is a Program Coordinator at ICC, focusing on back-office data management using CRM software. She also does community outreach and fundraising through social media for ICC. Samita joined ICC in June 2017.

Professional background

Samita previously worked at CMS Computers LTD, DB Healthcare. She has developed websites for Being Volunteer USA and Desis Around Rocky Hill in 2016 and 2017.

She is a qualified Yoga teacher with 200 hours of yoga teachers training from SVYASA (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) University. She has been conducting youth leadership program, Feed the Needy programs, and holiday donation drives for Being Volunteer USA.  She specializes in Yoga for Diabetes, Meditation Instruction, and Marketing.

Community activities

Samita started community service activities in 2014 with her first 10 days workshop for Yoga for Diabetes. Later she has conducted several Yoga for Diabetes workshops in New England area. In October 2017 she formed her own nonprofit organization Being Volunteer Foundation USA Inc and serves the needy local and international community.

Samita has been teaching once a week free Yoga and Meditation class since 2014. She is also mentoring Youth leadership programs for Being Volunteer USA.

She will be offering yoga sessions through ICC for its mission of making the Indian community stronger through unwavering and selfless service to the community.

Personal Hobbies and other interests

Samita lives in the Boston area with her husband Milind, son Devansh and dog ?. Milind works at Cohu Inc a global IT cloud and emerging services. Devansh is studying Criminal Justice at UMass Lowell.

Samita loves music and was finalist for 2018 and semifinalist for 2021 IAGB Anatakshari Competition. She was also a Finalist for Mrs India New England pageant 2019.


Samita earned her Masters degree in computer management from Pune University, India. She is a Certified Yoga Practitioner, Therapist specialized in Yoga for Diabetes from SVYASA University, Bangalore.
