Twin Epidemic – Heart Disease and Diabetes facing South Asians – a free webinar
Evidence has shown that we, South Asians face a disproportionate burden of chronic illnesses of Heart Disease and Diabetes. This chronic illness and their impact could be described as “Our genes load the gun, and our lifestyle pulls the trigger“.
As we look around our circle of family and friends, most of us have a personal experience and are touched by these chronic illnesses and their severe impact. Those of us who may be affected by these conditions may already be receiving their health care from a competent medical team. Besides medical care, these risks can be reduced and conditions can be improved by Lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes can also be implemented as a preventative measure to avoid future problems and the onset of these illnesses.
